Superlatives are the greatest thing ever!

All things considered, this is maybe the first time I can ever remember being a little bit glad that I am not Tiger Woods.

Then again . . . .

I am prepared to nominate "Bikini Destinations" on F/X as the greatest television show ever.

No, I have not joined Twitter. Just suffereing from my usual attention deficit disorder . . . .

NORMAN, Okla. -- No. 11 Oklahoma State had everything to play for: the money and exposure of the Bowl Championship Series, another step toward making school history and bragging rights in a rare chance to outshine its traditional in-state rival.

Then Oklahoma snatched all that away in making OSU look anything but BCS-worthy.

DeMarco Murray ran for two touchdowns, Ryan Broyles returned a punt 88 yards for a score and Oklahoma knocked No. 11 Oklahoma State out of contention for its first BCS appearance with a 27-0 win Saturday. Read more... )

CBSSports.com wire reports

BOULDER, Colo. -- This is why Bo Pelini didn't want his team even thinking about Texas until next week. With the Big 12 North title already wrapped up, he forbade the Nebraska Cornhuskers from so much as mentioning the Longhorns, whom they'll face in the conference championship next Saturday.

Sure enough, the Colorado Buffaloes gave Nebraska all it could handle before the Huskers left Folsom Field with a sloppy 28-20 win Friday. Read more... )

DUI case vs. Palau official dismissed.
Wednesday, 25 November 2009 15:32
By Bernadette H. Carreon - Palau Reporter.

KOROR (Palau Horizon) - The charges of DUI and reckless driving against Health Minister Stevenson Kuartei were dismissed due to “lack of prosecution.”

Senior Judge Honora Rudimch, in a two-page order, said since Special Prosecutor Michael Copeland “has willfully failed to proceed against the defendant, thereby the court hereby dismisses the above matter case for lack of prosecution.”

The order said the court did not accept the plea agreement presented by Copeland.

Copeland’s argument was that Kuartei was a high ranking official and that a conviction might disrupt the minister’s ability to travel to the United States. Rudimch said it is not a sufficient excuse to justify the dismissal of the DUI. “This is so, particularly in light of Copeland’s confident representation to the court that he had sufficient evidence against the defendant,” the ruling said. The order further stated that alcohol-related vehicular collisions are a major problem and the court’s role is to ensure “justice and equal treatment of the law.”

Copeland tried to file a motion to dismiss the case without prejudice, but the court denied the motion. He then informed the court he was not prepared to go to trial. Copeland said even if he was prepared to go to trial that afternoon, he was not going to present any witnesses and that it was not in the best interest of the country to prosecute Kuartei.

“Mr. Copeland’s argument is without merit and questions why this case was filed in the first place, particularly in the light of Mr. Copeland’s confidence that there is sufficient evidence to support the charges against the defendant and his witnesses are readily available to testify,” the order stated.
